A piece of California history. The Pacific Ocean Park ( POP ) in Santa Monica was a destination since it opened in 1958. The park closed in 1967 and later suffering a series of fires which left it in ruins. It's afterlife served as a backdrop for a movement to begin which would change the course of skateboarding history, as influenced by the surf which broke on the remains of the pier.
